Di Ricci is a special painting I did for the owners of the Di Ricci Cantina winery in Montepulciano. When we were there we heard the story of the boy back in 1080 who foretold the weather by watching the hedgehogs. He was spared being labeled a heretic by the inquisition by proving that the hedgehogs could tell the weather. I showed the owner my previous painting of the girl with the hedgehog and he loved it so I promised to paint him one. It is a custom that when you return to Di Ricci Cantina after a visit, you bring some type of hedgehog. I will bring hm this painting. If you love wine, Italy and hedgehogs, this is for you.
